What use are thousands of great profiles if the people behind them are rarely online and never seem to be available for a chat? Tinder provides a function for all users.
A green dot on a Tinder profile picture indicates that the respective user is currently active – or at least it was recently. The dating app means exactly the last 24 hours.
Paid feature now free
So far , the green point was only intended for matches of paying members with the Gold or Platinum Premium Subscriptions. Now the activity notice is also appearing with more and more free users and in various areas of the app.
Deactivate the green dot if desired
The activity monitor is apparently on the way to becoming a free feature for everyone on Tinder. But what about all those for whom this function is still too expensive because they do not want anyone to know whether and at what times they are tindering?
In this case, you simply go to the app settings and call up the item “last activity” and then switch off the display of your own activity with the slider.
Known from other apps
The green dot on Facebook or Instagram doesn’t work any differently. Also placed on the profile picture, it shows who is currently online.
The principle of reciprocity usually applies to these and other apps. If you don’t want to be seen yourself and hide your activity, you can no longer see the activity status of others.
