Streaming tip on Disney +: Watch the wonderful new Pixar film now – at no extra cost!

The enchanting Italian adventure “Luca” celebrates its premiere today on the Disney + streaming service. In contrast to “Cruella”, for example, there is no extra charge for the new Pixar animated film.
In 2020 Disney started to publish films originally planned for the cinema instead exclusively on the Disney + streaming service. The new ” Mulan ” cost the extra fee of 21.99 euros for a few months, as is currently ” Cruella ” and, from July 9, 2021, the new Marvel film “Black Widow”. The new Pixar film “ Luca ”, on the other hand, is now available exclusively for all subscribers at Disney + at no extra charge (this is how it was done with the Pixar film “Soul”).
The pandemic has led Disney and the other studios to experiment with new release models. Cinema premieres are not excluded – “Black Widow”, for example, will also be shown in cinemas from July 8th – but the old model with an exclusive theatrical release lasting several months seems to be history for Disney.
“LUCA”: MAGICAL VACATION IN ITALY
The young Luca (originally spoken by Jacob Tremblay ) lives on the Italian Riviera – but not in the way you might think now: Luca lives in water because he is a sea creature. One day, however, the curious boy discovers that it is possible for him to go ashore and assume a completely human form. On the picturesque Italian coastline he befriends a human boy, Alberto ( Jack Dylan Grazer ), who drives a moped and is otherwise a very cool guy …
As you can read in our 3.5-star review, “Luca” is not a Pixar masterpiece on the level of “Everything is upside down” or “Ratatouille”, but a warm-hearted and beautifully illustrated friendship story with its Italian alleys and beach panoramas can replace your summer vacation.

“Luca” isn’t the only newcomer to Disney +. In addition to ample supply of – sometimes very obscure – “Star Wars” films / series , the streaming service is now offering you the first episode of the second season of the teenage series ” Love, Victor “, all four seasons of the sci-fi comedy ” The Last.” Man on Earth ”, the masterful biopic“ Nixon ”with Anthony Hopkins as US President, the horror film“ Hide and Seek ”with Robert De Niro and the adventure film“ Flight of the Phoenix ”.
