Notes if your dryer is not working properly
If your dryer does not work properly, our tips and tricks can help you to fix any errors. The lint filter should be cleaned and the water tank emptied after each use.
Check the following options
- Make sure the dryer door is properly closed.
- Make sure the power cord is plugged into an electrical outlet.
- Check the circuit breakers and fuses in your home.
Take the drying capacity into account
Pay attention to the product-specific drying capacity of your dryer and do not overload it. If you put in more laundry, it will not be agitated enough and will not be dried evenly. It can also lead to severe wrinkles in clothing. In addition, it is advisable to use a standard drying cycle in which the laundry is weighed and the recommended drying time is determined by yourself.
Switching off the child lock
If the child lock has been activated, all buttons except the on / off button will not work. When the child lock is set, the dryer door locks and the child lock lamp lights up. The child safety lamp flashes when the button does not work or when another button is pressed. The activated child safety device continues to work even if the dryer is switched off and on again.

Tips about parental controls
In this way, the door can be opened even if the child safety device is activated
- If the dryer door is locked or if the button does not work due to the childproof lock, press and hold the + and – buttons simultaneously for three seconds to set a pause (one minute).
- The door is now released for one minute and the child safety light flashes.
- When the minute has passed, a warning tone will sound for two minutes.
- If the door is closed during these two minutes, the child safety device is then reactivated.
How to deactivate the parental controls completely
- To completely deactivate the child lock, press and hold the + and – buttons again for three seconds.
- After releasing the button, the door is permanently unlocked and the light for the child safety device goes out.
Note: The actual characters, words, or symbols (-, +) on the control panel may vary depending on the model.
Make sure the lint filter and water tank are not clogged
Some areas of the dryer need to be cleaned regularly. The lint filter and the water tank should be cleaned after each use. Learn how to clean the lint filter below.
This is how you clean the lint filter
Clean the lint filter after each drying cycle and let it dry completely. If you use the dryer when there is still damp lint stuck in the sieve, this can lead to mold growth, bad smells or a reduction in drying performance.
Step 1 Open the dryer door and pull the lint filter up to remove it (do not remove the rubber seal on the lint filter).
Step 2 Open the outer sieve and remove the inner sieve.
Step 3 Open the inner and outer strainers.
Step 4 Remove the lint from both sieves and remove dust with a small brush.
Note: Rinse the screens under running water and then dry them completely (if necessary).
Step 5 Place the internal filter back into the external filter, close it and put it back in the dryer.
Note: Only operate the dryer with the inner lint filter in the outer lint filter.
We recommend cleaning the heat exchanger at least once a month (or at the latest when a corresponding signal sounds and the heat exchanger indicator lights up on the display). This increases the efficiency of the heat pump. To avoid injury and burns, do not touch or clean the heat exchanger with bare hands. Do not use water to clean the heat exchanger.
Step 1 Press the top of the outer cover to open it.
Step 2 Loosen the two fastenings with a twisting motion.
Step 3 Pull out the inner cover.
Step 4 Clean the heat exchanger with the cleaning brush provided (or a vacuum cleaner with a brush attachment).
Note: Do not bend or damage the heat exchanger fins when cleaning, this can lead to a decrease in drying performance.
Step 5 Clean the inner cover with a soft, damp cloth.
Step 6 Replace the inner cover and secure it properly.
Note: Make sure the fasteners are fully closed.
Step 7 Close the outer cover.
Tips to prevent the water tank from leaking
Empty the water tank after each use to prevent leakage. The water tank is only included in the scope of delivery for heat pump and condensation dryers.
Step 1 Pull the water container out of the corresponding opening.
Step 2 Empty the water through the drain hole and slide the water container back into the opening.
Note: Be particularly careful if the water tank is very full when you remove it.
Tips if your clothes are still damp after drying
Add extra time to the drying cycle
All preset drying programs can automatically determine the weight of the laundry for effective drying. We recommend using automatic drying if the laundry is less than three kg.
Most dryers also have the option of selecting a specific running time for the drying process instead of a preset program. If you use this function and find that the laundry is still damp, start another drying cycle with the shortest duration (usually 30 minutes) and then check the degree of dryness of your laundry again.
Instead of IRON DRY, choose another drying program
If you use the IRON DRY program , the drying performance is lower because the laundry should retain a certain amount of residual moisture. We recommend choosing a different program depending on the laundry to be dried.
More tips to improve the drying efficiency of your laundry
Use standard programs
We recommend using a standard drying program. These programs determine the recommended drying time based on the weight of your laundry.
Do not overload
the dryer Only load the dryer with the recommended amount of laundry. If you put too much laundry in it, it will not be dried evenly or insufficiently, which, among other things, can lead to creasing in the fabric.
Do not mix different types of textiles to dry.
For efficient drying, your laundry should be separated according to the type of textile. For example, if you mix thick and thin fabrics, the thin fabrics will be dried, but thick fabrics could still contain residual moisture. If you only want to dry one or two items of clothing, add one or more items of the same type of laundry. This improves the rotatability of the drum and increases the drying efficiency.
Thicker fabrics: towels, sweatshirts, vests, fleece clothing, etc.
Thinner fabrics: T-shirts, lingerie, active clothing, socks, etc.
The following program recommendations serve as a guide:
DELICATES or EASY-CARES: Generally suitable for lingerie and thin clothing.
WOOL: Recommended capacity approx. One kg. The laundry is not completely dried to avoid damaging the clothing.
TOWELS: We do not recommend drying any other type of laundry with towels.
SHIRTS: We recommend drying a maximum of three or fewer shirts at once to avoid wrinkling.
Always follow the laundry manufacturer’s instructions on drying, which you can usually find on the laundry label.

Tips for washer-dryers (washing machine with integrated dryer)
Samsung washer-dryers are space-saving combination devices that combine the advantages of a washing machine and dryer in one device. You can of course only use a washer-dryer for washing clothes and hang your clothes to dry in the traditional way.
If you are in a hurry or if you have no way of hanging up your laundry, you simply use the integrated dryer and your laundry comes out of the washer-dryer, washed and dried, ready for use.
To do this, simply select a dryer option according to the corresponding washing program and start the washer-dryer. Note that the total term will then be extended. You can find more information in the operating instructions for your washer-dryer.
If applicable, note the following points when using a washer-dryer:
- The internal temperature of the washer dryer, in spite of the cooling cycle at the end of each drying cycle, be increased and residual heat can be partly dissipated through the door, the door should be quickly opened after the program end.
- Do not touch the inside of the drum during or after the drying process – the inside will be hot . This can cause burns.
- Note that the metal parts attached to the laundry can also be hot after the drying process.
