WhatsApp is not only the most popular messenger in Germany. But as with other programs, errors do occur every now and then. WhatsApp users previously had a problem, they had to report it in a rather cumbersome manner by email or letter. But that is about to change.
WhatsApp has submitted an update with version number 2.20.202.7 through the Google Play Beta program, which gives hints of an interesting new feature. According to ” WABetaInfo “, the messenger is currently testing the so-called in-app support – an improved way of reaching support in the event of errors. The function cannot yet be used, but users can already see how it is structured.
How does the in-app support work?
WhatsApp’s in-app support is basically nothing more than a simplified way for users to contact the company. Previously, if you wanted to report bugs, errors or other problems with Messenger, you had to leave the app and switch to your e-mail program. Because in addition to notification by letter or fax, WhatsApp has so far only allowed contact via the email address support@whatsapp.com. There is no hotline or the ability to send the company a WhatsApp message.
Many users have complained in the past that they only received a standardized response to their email request. Also found the contact route generally too cumbersome. The company now appears to be responding to precisely these complaints. WhatsApp users should be able to reach support directly from the app in the future. When opening a ticket, the error can be described using an input mask. Affected people also have the opportunity to include useful information such as details about their smartphone that can help solve the problem. In the next step, a chat opens, through which users can contact a support employee directly. A much more direct exchange with WhatsApp is possible.
When will the new WhatsApp support function appear?
WhatsApp’s in-app support is still under development. When the company will deliver the new function is therefore still completely uncertain. However, since the evidence found is already very specific, it can be assumed that it could at least appear in a WhatsApp beta soon.
