LG announces which smartphones should still get Android 11

The electronics group LG will no longer produce smartphones in the future. But what happens to those who have just been bought? Users can still count on service for a while.
LG Electronics (LG) promises its users three more years of Android operating system updates. The period is based on the year of purchase. The manufacturer announced this in a press release. LG had last announced that it would withdraw from the smartphone business by the end of July 2021, TECHNOLOGY BUTTON reported .
LG announces a list of smartphones that are still receiving updates
The regulation applies to phones that have been on the market since 2019 and later, i.e. the G series, V series, LG Velvet and LG Wing. You will get three updates. Some 2020 models like the LG K series are expected to receive two updates. There is no point in time for the provision of Android 12 and Android 13 yet.
Update to Android 11
LG has published a list that shows when the update to Android 11 should come for the individual devices:
So far, the LG Velvet with 5G is the only one that has already received Android 11. The G8X is to follow in the third quarter (July-September). Then the Velvet 4G, G8s, LG Wing, as well as K52 and K42 are in the fourth quarter of this year (October-December).

Update to Android 12 and 13
LG South Korea has also announced on its website (in Korean) which devices will get Android 12 and Android 13. Accordingly, an update to Android 12 for LG Wing, LG Velvet 4G / 5G, V50, V50s, G8, Q31, Q52 and Q92 is planned. Android 13, on the other hand, should only receive the LG Wing and the LG Velvet 4G / 5G.
