At this year’s virtual Consumer Electronics Show (CES), Samsung is presenting a new model from the “The Frame” series. Not too much is known about the new features of the television. The Korean manufacturer is probably focusing on new design options and a significantly slimmer appearance. In addition, works of art remain available by subscription.
Samsung’s TV series “The Frame” is a television and a wall picture at the same time. Over 100 works of art are included with the purchase – many more are available in the Samsung Art Store. While users use the device in active operation as a modern TV, “The Frame” works as a digital picture frame in offline mode. The design TVs have been around since 2017, with Samsung regularly expanding the range. According to ” Cnet “, this year’s model in the series should again offer some new functions.
The Frame in 2021
According to the manufacturer, the new model should be 46 percent flatter than its predecessor. In addition, there will be new clip-on frames that will initially be available in five colors and two styles, such as “Beveled” and “Modern”. The current version is supposed to play moving works of art rather than streams or TV programs. Accordingly, smaller versions in 32 and 43 inches are also available. The largest variant is 75 inches.

Technology of the new Samsung TV in detail
Samsung also uses QLED panels in this year’s model. A maximum resolution of up to 3840 x 2160 (4K) offers razor-sharp images. The wall bracket supplied can be used to view works of art in a horizontal position. Also on board are the motion sensors that detect people in the room and automatically switch off the television if there are no spectators around.
“ Enhance every room with a beautiful work of art,” is how Samsung promotes the concept of a picture frame. With a monthly subscription, owners can access over 1400 digital wall images in high resolution. There are also different frame colors, for example in black or bamboo wood optics, which round off the painting optically. You can also display your own images and photos. So users can create individual slide shows from their own favorite pictures and play them in rotation.
Price and availability
Little is known about the price and availability of the new Samsung TV. The 2019 models from “The Frame” started at a recommended retail price of 1199 euros for the 43-inch version. The largest in 65 inches had an RRP of 2499 euros. A similar price structure is expected for the new models.
