Joyn or Joyn Plus + is a joint German project of the media groups ProSiebenSat.1 Media and Discovery. Compared to competitors such as Netflix, the streaming service is still quite young: the platform was launched in 2019. Mainly the content of the participating broadcasters can be seen, similar to the media libraries of the public broadcasters . Within a very short time, however, films and series also appeared explicitly on the streaming service that no longer necessarily ran on television in advance. So-called Joyn Originals or Exclusives have long been available – own productions or external ones, but which appear exclusively at Joyn. Joyn is the direct successor to 7TV, and the video-on-demand portal Maxdome was also launched in 2020 integrated into the service. Much of the content at Joyn is free, but some now require a subscription, called Joyn Plus +. In this article you will find the novelties on Joyn and Joyn + with an assessment of the highlights.
